This speaks to my soul in so many ways, and brings to mind several times in my life. The adversity we live through, only makes us stronger.
So I have to share with you the first of my Favorite Things Corner. One of my all time favorite human beings is my Grandma. Like seriously you guys, I had the BEST Grandma.
One of the things my Grandma did to show us she loved us was cooking. Almost everything she made was tasty.
You know like when someone else makes you a Sandwich…it tastes WAY better than if you had made it with the same ingredients?! Buttermilk white bread with soft butter and slices of velveeta cheese on it, was like…the most amazing sandwich Grandma always made For me at her house. Definitely made with love, and the reason it tasted so great.
So now I’ll pass along a recipe we all make that was my Grandma Betty’s famous dinner.
Homemade Chicken and Noodle Soup
Boil 1 skinless chicken in pot covered in water, for 45 minutes. Remove chicken and strain broth. Add chicken bouillon for more flavor.
While chicken is boiling, make noodles.
In bowl combine 1 1/3 cups of Flour
2 eggs full of water
1/2 tsp salt
Mix tother. If dough is too sticky, add flour until it can be rolled out onto a floured surface. Cut into dough, long noodles 1/4”-1/2” wide.
Slowly add noodles to the boiling chicken broth. You may also add carrots or other vegetables you wish. Add 1 tablespoon of parsley leaves. Turn down and continue boiling for 15 minutes. Season with salt, thicken with a mixture of cornstarch and water. Add shredded chicken and serve!
Your Welcome. 🙌🏻
This recipe continues to be our favorite. I’m hoping my kids take it into their homes someday, and continue the tradition.♥️
So that her recipes and the memories of my Grandma stick around, I thought it would be perfect to have a cookbook of all of her stuff. My Mom suggested we add my Great Aunt Lucille’s recipes as well.
I think that food brings us together, and I hope that the recipes from my Grandma and my Aunt, will stir up good memories in us all.
I’ve been making my cookbook on Blurb. Check it out! ⬇️

At this point in my life, I’ve 95% given up on expectations for Mother’s Day, and ok…any holiday. I just can’t go through having the let down of expectations that are not fulfilled. Why do we do that to ourselves?!
I. had. to. stop.
If I want something bad enough, I buy it for myself and call it my Mothers Day gift. I actually…SPELL OUT WHAT I WANT! My husband is not a gift guy, and “His Son” is not either. I’ve done my best to mold and shape that in him, and I’m apologizing now to my future Daughter in Law. I’m so sorry girl, I tried 🤷🏼♀️
Truthfully, I had to really talk to myself about what amazing things I do have. I have a super awesome husband, I mean, I really do. I’m pretty spoiled. I live a happy little life most of the time. I cannot focus on these tiny things that aren’t perfect. I can’t ask for much more.
I am so much happier! You know, the things I wish I could’ve learned when I was young🤦🏼♀️ But I know now…and I’m over it.
The truth is, we have to make OURSELVES happy. That’s it, that’s the secret.
This year, we spent the weekend in Pullman, Wa at WSU watching our good friends Son play baseball, fishing, BBQ-ing, and it was just so great. I will say though, my husband surprised me with something I wanted. It was sitting in the passenger seat as we were loading up on Friday to leave town.
I’ve been wanting one for awhile! You know what I’m going to be able to do with this thing! Woohoo!
You won’t be able to keep me out of Home Depot for sure. 🛠🧰
As everyone does, I’ve gone through some trials and tribulations in my life. As a kid, I thought life was perfect. It seemed immediately the day I graduated from high school that the hard times would come. As a young adult making decisions, with not a lot of practice, I made some bad ones. Like a lot of other young people I thought my parents were wrong…about well, pretty much, EVERYTHING 🤷🏼♀️
The pain and heartache that came from bad decisions is something I’ll never forget, and it is also what changed me into the person I am today. I decided then, that I would not be the person that made that same mistakes over and over. Truthfully, I think falling hard and having to pick ourselves back up, is what possibly can be the thing that can transform our life into something so good.
As much as I want to shield my kids from the pain of bad decisions, I do my best to stand back, let them feel the sting, and hope that those hard falls will be learning experiences.
Toby Mac is one of my favorite inspirational people. This is one of my favorites from the other day; it instantly touched me.
Let’s talk about PODCASTS! I literally just started listening to them a few months ago, and whoa…I can actually get some house cleaning done! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
So yeah, I just pop in some ear buds and go to town, and I legit LIKE to CLEAN now!
So how do you go about finding stuff you like to listen to? I found my first podcast because it was shared in a Facebook group. Seriously I thought Podcasts were for smarty pants, maybe Nerdy people. I was VERY wrong. I did wonder…why when we can literally watch/stream/YouTube anything we would want, would Podcasts be so big.
So as I’m chatting with a long time client a few weeks ago, I asked her if she’d ever listened to Podcasts.💇🏼♀️✅
And then she passed along her favorite Podcast, the Podcast that changed me…
I AM HOOKED YA’LL! 🙋🏼♀️
Are you ready for it???!!!! That is…my 1st favorite Podcast!
It’s called “My Favorite Murder”
THESE LADIES are to die for! Comedians talking about MURDER? I know! BIZARRE??? No!
It’s like an episode of Dateline, but with your girlfriends having wine at your house. LOTS OF LAUGHS!
The deal is…if you like True Crime, you’re gonna love it.
Stay Sexy, & Don’t Get Murdered!
So I share stuff like this with my clients everyday. I find out really cool, amazing tips from them too. I LOVE my clients, I feel like I’m hanging out with friends all day, and we really pass some good things back and forth.
My little family recently went on vacation to Maui for Spring Break. It had been several years that we have gone on a big vacation like this. Truthfully I’d like to do it every year. Heck, I’d like to do it several times a year, but most of us can’t afford that. As always, we had such a great time as a family in our favorite tropical place! And people…we NEED our vacation time!!! Work hard, play hard and Life is short and you just gotta do it. Take the VACAY. Do it.
I just couldn’t help thinking I want to do it again next year.
This last year I saved the money pretty easy because my Son and I were on a payment plan for the New York/DC Middle school trip. We had decided not to go, and we got our money back. I took that money and paid for 3/4 of our trip to Maui. So here’s the thing, I knew there had to be an App for helping me save money for another Spring Break trip, that wasn’t tied up with our other savings accounts.
Guess what? There was! So hey, check out this cool app someone smart created, to help people like me. I absolutely love it. If you click on my link you get $5 to start!
